BASCULES

Designed with an unbroken line between back and seat, it pays homage to the Eames' famous RAR.
In Los Angeles, Ray and Charles Eames launched the Modern Design Movement, using essentially the same materials and aerodynamics as Simmons for his boards, according to Bernoulli's principles detailed in Hydrodynamica.
This armchair with wooden rockers was a revolution. In early 1950, the New York Times Magazine wrote: "The greatest revolution in modern design is undoubtedly the chair made of fiberglass and plastic". This year marked the beginning of a major industrial revolution in the world of design.
The RAR chair would be produced and sold to the general public from 1950 to 1968 (it would be produced again 30 years later). Until 1984, the publishing company offered all its pregnant employees a RAR rocking chair.
